On stage, everything I do is 100% live and mostly improvised. I am obsessed with the magic of spontaneous creation: every performance is unique, unrepeatable, and deeply connected to the crowd and the moment.
Open airs, festivals & street sessions in Berlin. Also played Italy, Czechia, Switzerland, South Korea and The Gambia, and recorded in Pakistan.

In August 2026 I was an invited artist at the 39th Ferrara Buskers Festival in Italy. I played every day of the festival, from 26 to 30 August, and the afterparty.

Back on the road for Rave The Planet, this year under the motto IMAGINE LOVE. Our Mauerpark Love Kommando float, No. 23, rolled down the Straße des 17. Juni. After organising it in 2025, this time I co-organised the float with Hendrik Nitsche and played an evening set on keys and synths, live from the truck.
On 8 August 2026 I played at Pyramid Party: Lions Trance at Metropol Berlin. The night was built on the chakra system, and my live experimental techno set was the throat chakra round.
EVENT PAGE
Humnava Season 1 (Hunza) is out. I worked across most of the album: I co-produced and arranged “Qataghani” with Xulfi, arranged “Sway”, and played synths, bass and beats on 7 of the 9 main songs. Those seven have 7.1M+ plays on Spotify and YouTube, and the whole Humnava project (not only my songs) now reaches 1.5M monthly listeners on Spotify. In August 2026 Xulfi was named for Pakistan’s Pride of Performance award in music.
In September and October 2025, I was invited to Hunza, Pakistan for a music production camp and artist residency, created by Giraffe Music in cooperation with the European Union (EU).
It took place in the Karakoram Mountains and brought together artists across backgrounds, with many of the local talents coming through LLMC.
Recorded live in the Karakoram Mountains.

Watch QataghaniIn March 2026 I travelled to The Gambia with my keyboard rig. On the Gambian coast I played a beach session with kora and balafon players. Along the way I learned about Gambian history and culture, how the instruments are built and the rhythms behind them.
In July 2025, our local family of live-electronic street musicians, known as the “Mauerpark Love Kommando”, and I contributed a truck
to the legendary Rave The Planet, the successor to the
Berlin Love Parade. Playing this techno protest and organizing our own Mauerpark truck
was an insane honor.

Armed with just a synthesizer and loop station, I transform pedestrian zones into dance floors. Whether at Berlin's iconic Mauerpark or the bustling Alexanderplatz, my psychedelic techno sound brings people together, until the police arrive at Warschauer Straße: noise complaints, no permit. Is this the end?
"On the street, you can conjure a career out of nothing," as the documentary puts it. It dives deep into the reality of street art across Europe: the passion, the struggles with authorities, and the raw creativity that emerges when artists have nothing but public space and their talent. Featuring breakdance, techno, and street art from cities across the continent.
In May 2025, I got to perform in beautiful St. Gallen with my friend and vocalist Zeli. The full 45-minute live set is now on YouTube, and so is our live jam with Zeli:
I contributed to Andreas Greiner’s work in the exhibition “Illusion” at one of Germany’s leading art museums, the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
For the installation inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey and HAL 9000, I created the majority of the sound design for a locally hosted, dystopian AI encounter staged like an interrogation room. The system observes museum visitors and engages them directly, often with a cynical edge, occasionally crossing into authoritarian and deliberately uncomfortable tones.

In 2023 I made it into the round of 64, with buskers from 25 countries, at the Gwangju Busking World Cup.

I'm Dorian Goetsch, aka Gray Contrast, a Berlin-based live electronic artist. I build Techno, Electro & Trance from scratch, improvised live on synths, Loopy Pro and vocals. Berlin street musician since the 2020 lockdown.

For a booking, include the date, city / venue, set length, capacity and budget.
On request, I can bring vocalists, ones that are also great at improvisation.
I have hosted numerous meditation and cacao-ceremony events where I guided the space with more ambient music. In August 2026 I played the Throat Chakra round of the Pyramid Party at Metropol Berlin, a ceremonial all-night rave built around the chakra system.

Gray Contrast is Berlin musician Dorian Goetsch. He improvises techno, electro and trance with a custom Loopy Pro rig, synthesizers and vocals. Shaped by Mauerpark street sessions, each set follows the room and the crowd, without playback or pre-written sequences.
Gray Contrast is the solo project of Berlin-based musician Dorian Goetsch, focused on improvisation as a discipline rather than a gimmick. The sound lives between Techno, Electro, Trance, and EDM, driven by rhythmic pressure and bass weight, but steered by a musician's ear for harmony and tension. A classical piano background shows up in the way melodies surface, mutate, and vanish again, while live vocals cut through as an instrument rather than an add-on.
The project is closely tied to Berlin as a testing ground for spontaneous performance: street sessions, day-rave energy, and the direct feedback loop you only get when there is no stage barrier. In particular, Mauerpark is not a marketing label here, it is a real place that helped shape the sound and the method, a hub where live electronic busking actually happens and where community response becomes part of the composition.
On a technical level, Gray Contrast performs with a custom-built rig centered around Loopy Pro, using synthesizers, looping, and voice to build full arrangements in real time. On an artistic level, the point is simple and strict: nothing is played back, and nothing is treated as a reusable script. The structure, transitions, and peaks are decided in the moment, reacting to the space, the crowd, and the day. That is why each performance is inherently unique, and why it cannot be recreated later, even intentionally: the set is a real-time construction, not a rehearsed reproduction.
